Geography – Structure of the Panchayat

"The topography of midland is primarily observed in Neezhoor Panchayat. The land areas situated at an altitude between 7.5 meters and 75 meters above sea level are included in the midland category. Areas with an altitude of more than 75 meters are included in the highland category.

The land types found in the panchayat can be mainly classified into three: hilltops, sloped areas, and valleys. The highest areas in the panchayat fall under the hilltop category, the low-lying areas including paddy fields fall under the valley category, and the areas connecting the hilltops and valleys fall under the sloped area category.

The famous Bhoothapandanchira of the panchayat is located in the valley region. It spreads over an area of approximately 4.12 hectares. The large canal passing through the panchayat is its main water source. Rubber is primarily cultivated in the highlands and sloped areas of the panchayat. Laterite soil and red soil are the main soil types found in the hilltop areas. Vannattukunnu, Chiranirappu, Vanchippara, Oonnukallu, Manthattukunnu, Pathikunnu, Mookam Chathimala, Manadimala, Theradimala, and Thevarthumala are the major elevated regions in the panchayat."
