🤲As participants in the governance system, citizens have rights. When these rights are denied or not properly fulfilled, actions against them must be prevented, and civic rights must be exercised responsibly. Citizens have the duty to fulfill certain obligations and responsibilities towards society and the nation. These are called civic duties. Fulfilling them voluntarily is the duty of a good citizen.

2🕊️Cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired the national struggle for freedom.
3🏛️Uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
4🏺Value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture.
5🌳Protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers, and wildlife.
6♀️Promote harmony and renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women.
7🧪Develop the scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
8🤝Safeguard public property and to abjure violence.
🏛️   Panchayat Raj Act (1994, 1999)
The Panchayat Raj Act of 1994 defines numerous duties and responsibilities to be performed by the Grama Panchayat at the local level. Key among them are:
1👨‍👩‍👧Participate in Grama Sabha and take active part in the planning process.
2💰Pay taxes regularly to ensure the own revenue of the Panchayat.
3🛠️Cooperate with the Panchayat in developmental activities.
4📋Participate in planning, execution, and evaluation activities.
5✋Participate and maintain vigilance in public hygiene and waste management.
6🧍Cooperate in sanitation, healthcare, public health, and communicable disease control.
7🔎Cooperate in evaluating the social audit process.
8🧑Work for social welfare and the upliftment of backward classes.
